Jim Smith

Elder – Children’s Ministry

Jim Smith has served as a Lay Elder at Grace Bible Church of Marysville since 2021, having first come to GBC with his family in 2006 after moving to the area. He provides leadership to a variety of GBC ministries, including the Children’s ministry, an Adult Fellowship Group, the Sunday Care Team ministry, and the online sermon “Wednesday Watch Party” ministry. He serves as a teacher and table leader in the GraceLife Adult Fellowship ministry, as a table leader and back-up teacher in the Faithful Men ministry, and as a back-up teacher in the Fundamentals of the Faith class. He also handles a variety of administrative tasks for GBC, including worship service announcements, church social media and YouTube channel, legal advice to the Elder Board, and serves as the Board Secretary-Treasurer.

 

Jim holds Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Juris Doctor (J.D.) degrees, and is a licensed attorney, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP). After serving in law enforcement, he served as a public safety labor law attorney, and is currently the operations leader for a corporate investigations function at a large global company.

 

Jim and his wife (and high school sweetheart), Jenny, have two adult daughters (Morgan & Taryn), two sons-in-law (Bryson & Christian), and two grandchildren.
